Well first let me say that this only happens if the factory welds rust out or you have just way too much power. Now on to fixing it. It is possible to weld it back together, but I would advise against this for the following reason. The subframe is made to the correct triangulated specifications from the factory. If you don't have those specs and are just welding it back together most likely you will not get it straight on and so the diff will sit at an angle. This means that when you get on the power hard, the driveshaft will deflect and so will the half shafts. The best and easiest way to fix this problem is to purchase a used subframe, sand blast it, reinforce the welds and paint it. I would really advise against trying to fix it.
