actually, that's the brain for the fuel injection.

as for the antenna....a couple of generalizations are fair to make -- it seems most US-spec cars had front fender-mounted antennas on the driver side.

it seems euro cars, on the other hand, usually had the antenna either mounted in the exact same place OR possibly mounted in the trunk with the antenna sticking from the driver-side quarter panel.

here's a neat bit of trivia -- an elderly friend of mine was a becker dealer and he tells me they would install fender-mounted antennas canted at an angle so as to mimic the angle of the windshield.

look through old road tests and check it out.
