The stock wheel on the e9 was a 6X14. That is a tad narrow for a 225/60-14 according to tire "experts", but it will work (a 6 1/2" or 7" wheel would be better). A 205/60-14 will fit OK on the 6" rim, but the speedo will read a bit low, or you could go up to a 205/70-14 and the speedo will read low.

If you get a decent handling tire (see Tire Rack surveys), a 70 Series won't have that much sidewall flex and will handle quite decently.


What would be the best tires for stock 73 E9 rims? Any recommendation? Thanks
