maybe it was the automatic, but the nice 635CSiA I tried (only once) felt sluggish.... it wasn't much fun. The steering was very loose (the CS also has power steering, but less assist), the interior is plasticy 80's style, it's a bigger car inside, but real blockly and boring. It's also a complicated car with the propper "computer stuff". The CS felt much faster and steers more to my liking, the 635's brakes of course are better though.

I'd say the CS is a better choice, possibly more reliable being a simpler car, but then both are probably pretty expensive to maintain. Of course if you want an automatic, I don't know how the 3-speed CS feels, and then you would have to have a CS, not a CSi (which were all manual) so you'll deal with Zenith carbs (not that bad once someone who knows what they're doing sets them up).

You can e-mail me about service records on my '74 if you're interested, I drive mine every day though.

I currently own a well restored 75 2002 and am looking at gettting a 3.0 CS or a 635 CSi in addition. Having not owned or really driven either of these much, can anyone share their thoughts about the pros and cons of each (e.g. driving experience, cost of ownership, availability of parts and skilled mechanics). At this point I'm leaning towards the 3.0 CS and considering an automatic (I know, a stick is probably the only real enthusiast choice, but traffic here in Atlanta is the pits).

Thanks,
Jeff
