Anybody have this problem ? I actually have installed new door breaks in the car, yet the door will still open all the way to the finder. Yikes!!!. I believe the metal on both door near the door break handle has been bent and needs to be strengthed any one familar with this problem.

i discovered the bent material on my front door while stripping it for old paint. it happens when the doorbreak "breaks", and the arm going going thru does not stop until it reaches the inside of the door, and with the weight and momentum that these bir doors get, esp on a windy day, the front of the door frame gets a lot of beating. i hammered it back in right postion, easily, but yoy should hold something heavy on the backside, otherwise the blow from the hammer will just sort of spread out, and you must remove the doorbreak again.unfortunately, these doorbreaks dont last long, I read somewhere how to modify and fit breaks from a 3 series, this was supposed to solve the problem, just cant remember where i saw it. will drop you aline if and when i findit.
