I have a 2800CS which has been retro-fitted with a 3.3L engine, triple weber 40 DCOEs, a schrick cam, lightened flywheel, etc. The results of the engine work is great. However, there is a lot of noise from the carbs during accleration which should probably be going out through the exhaust. It appears that much of the increased power fromthe carbs and head work is bogged by the original spec exhaust system. I am looking for suggestions for a more free flowing exhaust (hopefully just a better muffler) that could handle the increased HP (the car dyno's at 250+). I am not looking for a lot of noise, however. I am thinking perhaps a Dynomax/Dynaflow muffler but I am open to other (reasonably priced) ideas.
As my car is at the mechanic's shop, it would also be helpful if someone could provide me with the physical dimensions of the muffler (length and diameter) along with the pipe diameters that are going into and out of the muffler. This will help me in my search as well.
Many thanks.
