Steve:
Saw your post, looked up my VIN , and I've got # 4335095, the car off the line ahead of yours! What are the odds? I need to go buy a lotto ticket today (and will probably be one digit off)!

Seriously, I bought the car last weekend from Ron Dwyer, 90% restored with a 80's 3.5 and 5 speed in it, for $10,000. Less than he wanted, but more than I wanted to pay, so probably a fair deal. Only one rust spot on one door. Let me know if you are ever around Santa Rosa CA, and we'll compare. See it at http://borglum.com/bmw/bmw30cs.

My car VIN 4335096 is a 1974 CSA and only a few hundred were made. Out of those few hundred there are probably what...say 20% on the road? Even if there were half of them on the road which I doubt, the fact remains that these are very rare cars indeed.

Why don't they bring more? I mean, I've seen old POS Ford Fairlanes bring 10 grand and they aren't near restored.
