I agree with Dan. I would go to a shop that does the work right the first time and if by any chance the car was not fixed and needed some more adjustment, they would acknowledge it, and fix it rather than making excuses that something else is wrong. If I find a shop like that I'll travel. I even went as far as San Diego a few times in the past to get my car fixed by Carl. Just three weeks ago, I had problem with the car fouling plugs, and I took it to a German mechanic around the corner from where I live (and he has been there a long time) and he told me that the car needed a valve adjustment and carburater was set wrong. So I said okay, and he chrged me $215 to do all that. I picked the car up, and the valves were way too noisey, he said that he has done it on purpose do get the clearance. I said fine, you are the expert, lets see what happens. Few days later the car was doing the same thing and fouling. I replaced the plugs and took and went back, and he said that there is nothing he can do and the car needs a valve job and the plugs that I removed from the car (new ones he had put in there a few days earlier) were are full of carbon , but he said that was oil deposits!! Now what am I going to say to someone like that, except take a deep breath and walk out. I then took it soemone else that was recomended by a few CS owners I had seen around town. He checked it and said that nothing was done right and the car was running way too rich. He then re-adjusted the valves and adjusted the carbs and now the car runs so much smoother and no problems. BTW this guy was a lot further and since I didn't have a ride, I took the bus back home. I'll go that far for a good shop.
