provided you have registration for the car, you will be able to order new keys from BMW ($17/ea) based on the serial number written on the lock cylinders. They don't need to copy the key, they just make new ones. Finding those numbers is a bit of a hastle, and I never saw one on the cylinder for my 74's ignition, but supposedly it's there.
