Well, technically we weren't allowed to pass each other. The track was broken up into sections of say 1.5 to 2 miles (14.2 miles long at that time) each to learn it, and they'd space (accurately) the cars so that they wouldn't quiet catch-up to the car in front by the end of the section. So, no, he didn't pass me. There were plenty of CS/CSLs to annoy me.
