Isn't that 5-speed the close ratio box? I drove a '79 635CSi for a while and didn't much care for it. It's a highway car, not a town car - just doesn't feel light on it's feet.

Also, living way up a hill, my shift pattern when leaving the house was 1-2-4 or 1-3-4 usually; there was no need for that extra, closely spaced gear.

Now, you've got the 4.10 diff too, which will shorten the ratios more. Okay, you may do burnouts in more gears than you used to, but I'd not use the close ratio trans in a coupe. I'm trying to get a overdrive unit, though....
