Thanks for your comments.
The vinyl roof was factory fitted, as they were all the rage in the mid 70's. Many UK cars had vinyl roofs. When found, my car had the remains of a vinyl roof fitted, so I put one on to keep it original.
I hadn't figured out how to send a reply so I e-mailed you earlier. For the benefit of any others the plastic wheelarch liners are available from a company called Munich Legends - see my site for full contact details.

Cost about £120 the pair( plus £50 shipping - they will ship to US or Canada.)
Nice web site and BMW. Looks like LOTS of work, but a beautiful coupe obviously resulted.
Here in the States, I have never seen a vinyl top on a CS, but it looks attractive.
Where did you find the vinyl inner front fender liners? They would be great preventative remedy for sand/dirt accumulation in the upper fender area and therefore corrosion.

Hi folks, Just found this site and forum. I'm a Scottish CSi owner and have found this place by accident.
I have just done a course on website design. Please have a look at my first ever site ( all about the restoration of my car ) at http://liberator.dundeecoll.ac.uk/~ae8081c-14
