Hi all. I posted a message a few weeks ago titled "Zenith Hell Downunder". Well Its all over. I have successfully migrated to a 390 cfm Holley, mounted on a single ( big six ) manifold. ( Here in lies the fun - this manifold was on Euro models only aparently - I am told it is hard to come by). So I've been lucky!!.

My 2800 is now running like an absolute dream!!. However, the parting gesture from the Zeniths was to backfire so much - well the rear muffler ( new) blew an irrepairable hole - $A580 - ouch!!!). Now a memory.

Here's the scoop. The manifold bolts straight on - The Holley bolted straight to the manifold ( minor grind to fit bolts). Linkage config is all the same - all I did was take linkages from a Zenith carb off a 250 ( 1970 'ish) Benz and screwed together - no problem.( Seriously straight forward)

All hooked up - Tuned and the car now feels like it has lost 400kg!!. The fact of the matter is it is now taking 390 cfm, instead of around 169 cfm. Also, the Holley is one unit - simple and effective.

I'm not taking credit for this evolution here - Alasdair Thompson here in Australia spotted this simple and effective solution, and guided the whole process. ( i can supply contact details if required)

So, if you have the access to the right parts, I feel that this option could be as effective ( if not better) than alternatives.

Happy motoring all -( I AM!!!!).

Rob.
