I don't know about the UV problem, but the small stone chips that are an inevitable part of driving can build up stress risers in the glass. During reinstallation, there is a possibility of the windshield cracking from one or more of those points. Glass installers usually will tell you of this and disclaim any responsibility for breakage.

I've been lucky with three, one on a CS and two on two different 633s.
