My humble opinion about all this is that these numbers could be legit, for a handful of cars that get bought by people who have the money and don't really care about what the vehicle is really worth. At that moment, the car was worth that much to them. I also can't think of any real reason why Marilyn would make this up. For those of you familiar with the CSR and Marilyn you know she likes to talk, but you can't argue the fact that she knows a lot about coupes.

I would bet that the majority of people that use and lurk on this forum have a good idea of what the MARKET VALUE is of CS coupes. One may sell for twice the market value, but that doesn't mean they're all worth that much now. Same goes for the few great deals that are had from time to time. Should we all panic and think our cars are worthless when that happens?

It sure did wake up the forum tho!! 8-)

I'd like to agree with you.... but

I read about the major collector car auctions (via the sports car market newsletter --a great mag if you've never seen one!).

Never seen a CSi (or standard CS) go for anything like those prices!

Even street CSL's don't fetch $80K!

Maybe the factory racing batmobile with a documented race history might get close to those prices. (and that's a maybe)
