Got that 528i: 5speed, L-jet O2, ignition (archive)

finally concluded a deal for an '80 528i with O/D five speed trans, and pulled the trans. My compliments to Hans and Dieter with regards to their placement of several of the bell housing to block bolts - especially the one above the starter, and the two immediately behind the head.

I previously converted my CSA to a four speed, now I'll go to a five speed. I think I have all the parts, etc.

HOWEVER, the bonus is that the 528i has the L-jet with O2 sensor, which I am told is 'way better than carbs. So, I'm considering transplanting this too.

Anyone ever see a FAQ about this? Should I just swap the heads, with all the injection attached, or go through it all piece by piece? I have a second car to drive in the meantime.

Is the 528i ignition system better in any way than the stock unit? Is it worth transplanting? What does it entail?

TIA
Charlie
