Although this looks more like a schill's
question to me, I'll reply anyways.

If you have to ask, you do not understand,
and FINALLY some of us are figuring out
that it's futile to try and help y'all
understand. Have fun sorting through
vague generalities, armchair hypothesis,
and other assorted investments
of your obviously-not-valuable-time.
While this might be your experience
with the registries as well (at least
the on-line mailer parts) there's still
an intrinsic that's apparently lost on you.
I won't try to "sell" you, mmmkay?
BUT, don't be too sophomoric, just let
them do their thing, while you do yours, alright?
