I was visiting my local Pick-n-Pull wrecking yard last Saturday and discovered a 1980 528i sitting there with its' five speed manual tranny still in the car. I don't have time to go and get it plus I already have one of these transmissions for my Coupe. If anyone is interested in it and needs help to fetch it for their car let me know and I'll see what I can do.

This is for Bay area Coupe'sters only, or I suppose for those that want to get this for possible sale to others.

but you gotta love the 'long legs of the 4' (can't remember who came up with that line).

my 30 year old CS 4-speed is much smoother than my 17 year old E28 5-speed.

there's something to be said for the 4 and for originality. for fear of sounding like a purist, consider keeping your 4 if its in working order.
