Just install a low pressure electric fuel pump (3-5psi)next to the fuel tank to substitute for the mechanical one and power it throug a toggle switch under the seat or somewhere.

The car will start on the carb fuel, then die shortly thereafter (within 100 feet) where no thief will want to be seen fiddling with a dead car for long.

Anything more sophisticated seems like overkill.

My 71 CSA was recovered in Sydney 4 days after the theft - no apparent damage apart from some stuffed door locks. Am examining the car in greater detail tomorrow. I have a suspicion that automatics have an easier time when stolen than 4-speeds.

Just kids wanting to get from A to B & stealing the first car they could get into I suppose. I'm gonna make it bloody hard next time, though.

cheers,
Graeme
