I had similar problems. From various sources I found that these motors though underpowered rarely are the culprit.
1. Chech all electrical connections.
2. Clean out and regrease guiderails. The old grease can become like glue.
3. Check the rubber stops that limit travel at the top and bottom. They frequently are worn away thus allowing the window to travel too far and get stuck.
4. Try spinning the white nylon gear with your finger to get it started.
5. Check electrical connections and grounds again.
This procedure has worked for me. To keep them running use them frequently. My drivers door window will occasionally get stuck and slamming the door will always get it going again.
