Interesting. Good hear you're happy. I thought few people do rod-outs any more because for the money a new matrix could be installed. Not removing both tanks during a rod out is pretty stupid.

After years of heating problems, crack heads, driving with/out thermostat, rodded radiator nothing help!, planning to buy one with 3 cores, but decided to rod the damn thing one more time. Didn't use any well known radiator shop, just a local one...the guy told me who ever did the work (rod) before removed only one head of the radiator, because he found a mound of grime size of a baseball at the corner head of radiator. Yes, after installing the radiator I drove under/over 70 mph with air condition on, also in heavy downtown traffic and the temp neddle shows normal, and this is Summer!. Wish would have taken the radiator to that shop 9 years ago!
