i thought there was something seriously wrong with me until i attended a 356 (bull) meet. comparatively, WE ARE NORMAL - some of those guys are completely nut - not to say i would turn down a deal on a 356A though
All this proves is that the 356 guys are even more anal than us CS guys. Many tool kits were unique to the cars based on when the car was imported and who got to the tool kit before it reached the first retail buyer.
I know a guy with a nice 356 who actually measures the turns per inch and the diameter of the sprialled primary leads* to the coil because he once lost points on a Concours because his leads weren't wound tightly enough (sounds like a commentary on 356 guys, actually).
A 356 guy would probably faint at the thought of some of the mods CS guys accept as progress (like 5 speed trannies and big engines).

*In order to have slack in the wires, but not have them "hanging" in an unsightly manner, Porsche simply wound the wires around a mandrel into as coil (not unlike the coiled cord on your telephone handset).
just glanced at an ebay auction for a porsche 356 "hazet" wrench and i noticed that folks are paying over $150+ for one single wrench!^*@&^#?
somehow, i feel better about prices for BMW parts....
