Here is one that I can claim that is totaly rust free and there were never any rust repair work done. Like you said Bob, I am proud of it. Not for sale though.

Insist on before, during, and after pictures of all repaired areas if you buy a recently painted CS.

Any honest person should be glad (and proud) to show you where and how the rust was repaired.

It would be an unusual (and expensive)car, indeed, if it honestly never had a speck of rust in its entire lifetime.

Be suspect of such a claim. Trust, but only with proof!

Bob

I'm a 23 year old San Franciscan about to buy my first CS (thus fulfilling a life long dream)and was hoping someone might be able to provide me with some advice on two matters:
1. Can anyone recommend a solid CS mechanic in the SF area?
2. Is it better to buy a $7k range CS expecting to committ $3k extra to it? Or is it better to buy a $10k one (assuming it is even possible to decipher whether the price is proportionate to the condition)?
Thanks for the help
