I have 215/55*16s (Kumhos) on 16*7 BBS rims. My front springs are Eibachs but designed for a 528i. The result is that front is lowered a little.

You should do a test fit, but I suspect that you will get some rubbing on the strut in the front (I have veryt little clearance) with 225s. It depends upon how accurate the tire width is - some manufactures tend to over/underestimate their widths.

The other issue is that a 225/55 in the front may throw up a lot of road debris along the sides of the car. I am pushing my luck a bit with 215s.

The reccommended size for 16s (on a CSL) is 205/55s in the front and 225/50s in the rear. There was some hot debate about these sizes early on this year which you may want to search for.

does anyone know if 225/55/16 tires on 16x7 rims will work with 1" lowered suspension?
