I have the same set up, but with the old style water pump and have no clearance problems. I was also told that the newer water pumps will work too. How are your motor mounts?

Motor mounts are brand new. It may just be that the radiator for the automatic cars is different. Is the core of your radiator toward the front of the overall housing or toward the rear (closer to the fan blade)? My radiator core sits toward the rear of the car. I'm hoping there is a different radiator out there.

Although, one funky thing that I haven't figured out is I have at least a couple of inches left between my Getrag 265 tranny and the original automatic driveline. I thought there was only supposed to be 3/4 of an inch difference. Maybe my engine is just too far forward for some reason. I did not have to fabricate anything for the motor mounts, even though I heard that would be an issue for my '88 735i motor.

Hmmmmm?, Better do some double checking.

Thanks,
David
