1. Learn to love your Zeniths: get it up to 3500rpm and floor it. The sound and rush of the extra barrels are fabulous. Unless your Zeniths are totally shot, many folks would (including me) would suggest keeping them. Rebuild kits are inexpensive and it's not difficult task. Triple (and/or dual) Webers will give you a little more go and look/sound cool but the tradeoffs are poor milage, jetting difficulties and balancing hassles. IMHO, Zeniths get an undeservedly bad rap. If you really want more go, install Motronic fuel injection.
2. Bilstein and Boge shocks are readily available, but stick to stock specs. Sport shocks are too harsh. If you want to lower the deck a little, shorter springs are available, though I'm told you can just remove the spacers at the top of the strut housings that were added to raise the bumpers to U.S. height.
3. Roundel tech service advisor, Jenny Morgan, has a shop in Milwaukee. That's a haul from Chi, but maybe she could recommend someone. 414 264 BMW4.
