yikes... please keep us informed : (

FYI - there's a 002 on eBay right now, but I want to know more about what to get exactly before I bid on anything. I'm going to talk to my mechanic about what lines it should have and I'll report back.

Oh great! What in the heck did I buy? I will get a photo of it this evening. It definately has some sort of vacuum attachment on the side of the body.

Andrey,
I'm not sure what 008 dist. David has, but it shouldn't have a vacuum advance. The 0 231 188 002 is centrifical and is the new replacement for the original 008. Ron

Andrey,
David e-mailed me this AM and I responded: I beleive what he has is the guts of the early 6cyl. in a 008 housing, probably due to the shaft jurnal being worn. You could build a dist. from the 002 I suppose but make sure the advance is correct. The 002 is 34 degrees max. @ 2500 rpm. There was supposedly a 007 dist. that was in the E9 euro I was told. Have you talked to Carl @ La Jolla? Just some thoughts, Ron
