There were eight coupes present (9 if you count the 3200) but not all were entered in the show. It was nice to see a good showing of Coupes but I was hoping to see more of them - it was the only reason I went. Perhaps it was the NH location that kept folks from coming.
Comparing the Coupes next to each other was interesting as there seemed to be a hodge podge of parts used between them. I think that there were 3 or 4 different kidney grills alone. This supports the theory that only the parts available were used when these cards were built.
Surprisingly, the coupes really didn't get a second look from most of the show attendees. Most of the attention goes to the E30 M3s and newer cars which are generally aftermarketed and cleaned to death. There really weren't that many 2002s, which I found surprising also.
As one Coupe owner said after, "I don't think any other model present at that event, with perhaps the exception of the rare "trailer queen" 3200 CS and the ratty 2002 factory turbo, compares to the Coupe". Include the M1's and I would agree.
My observation only. I am not complaining, so please, no flames from other model owners.
