I had an origional cs sr put into a non sr 2800cs
the recipient roof was put on without "choping" the roof off at the pillars. The stability lost by not having a b-pillar can cause the roof to twist if not done properly. The paint on these cars will buckle off near the pillars. To solve this problem, all supporting brackets, braces and shims from the donor roof are harvested with the roof skin. Only the skin moved, and the support structure rewelded to the origional roof frame. The seam points hidden with bondo. The glass is a non issue as the frame is unaltered.
look for a good donor. The headliner pieces are different for the sunroof, and tracks can be rusty if the PO did not update the seals and unclog drain holes .. It is a time and expertise intensive project and thus expensive (I would probably not do it again, but am none-the-less happy with my car)...the guys who did mine are east coast and I can get you their # if you have a few K laying around...good luck...carl westcott
p.s. it might be less $ to buy a sr equipt cs
