A/C and left window not working...HELP (archive)

My A/C and driver's window have stopped working and I don't know why. They are on the same fuse but the fuse is fine. The wire to the back of the fuse panel looked like it was getting hot, so I replaced the end of the wire, the female connector, and cleaned the male connector. No luck.

I noticed they had stopped working when I started the car with the A/C on. I had shut the car off with A/C on and didn't realize the switch was in the on position when I went to start the car.

The car is a '71 2800cs. It is for sale--let me know if you want info.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
