I had this done. I had a parts car with a factory electric sunroof and a better car which had had an aftermarket glass pop-up sunroof installed. A friend who was a pro bodyman did the swap and you can not tell the car didn't come this way.
Still, you're probably better off just buying another car with a roof. I did this about 10 years ago and just happened to accumulate all the pieces fairly cheaply.
