I have a CS with a 3.3L and dual 38 DGAS' (installed in place of triple DCOE 40s). The car runs great and pulls very well. At Ofest this year, I compared it to another Coupe with a 3.5L and triple 45s and torque/accleration were the same and maybe a bit in my favor. I also have a 5-speed conversion.

The 3.3Ls do have lower compresion, 8.8:1, but I believe (don't quote me) they have a bit more torque than the 3.5s.

Your decision will probably come down to the deal you can find on the engine and/or tranny. You can't go wrong with either really.

Good luck

I've been convinced it's time to swap out the motor, and have heard various opinions on 3.3 versus 3.5 alternatives. I'd love to hear experienced voices. Also, a couple of topics I'd also appreciate commented on:
1) price expectations for the job (all inclusive)
2) is an M3 conversion just too complicated? (the concept is salivating :)
3) any gotchas or things to be aware of going in?
4) anyone have recommended sources for the work in Colorado?

All input greatly appreciated.

Perry
