Oh yeah! I saw an auction on one fail on eBay and called the seller to arrange to see it prior to making an offer. Flew the next day from Santa Rosa to LA, took an hour shuttle bus out to meet him, and found a complete piece of crap with nice paint. Nothing worked right. Even the driver's seat hinge was broken so it had to be propped up with a bag of trash from behind! Had trouble getting home again as I had expected to drive. Lost about $500 on travel costs rather than who-knows-how-much if I had bought it. Purty red color though...

More rust buckets for sale on Ebay! Doesn't the fact that so many coupes pass through Ebay bother anyone but me? Should this message board become a "watchdog" if you will, of these cars that are being sold? IE; post the facts that you know to be true, from inquiries and veiwings, about these cars. The Coupe is such an amazing car, I'm afraid that the reputation of it will become that of a car that is commonly passed off to others who are unsuspecting about its condition(rusty shitboxes as one seller described them), thus denegrading the model. Maybe if I owned a pristine coupe, I'd be more likeley to accept the breeds eminent extinction!!!
