They were experimental 2800 CS types made from a stainless steel called Remanit under a joint venture between BMW and DEW (German stainless steel works).
One of the cars was subsequently wrecked in an accident, the second belongs to the Deutsches Museum in Munich (currently in restoration) and the third one was sold, its whereabouts are unknown.
