Yes, the '82 and later (to'85) Getrag 265 is built to accomodate a speedo, you have to swap out the speedo drive from a 4-speed or older 5-speed tranny. But that is no big deal. Just loosen the bolt that keeps the plug (where the speedo drive should be), remove the plug, insert the speedo drive, and tighten the bolt beck down. You don't have to open up the tranny at all.
