my driver-side door brake just snapped after 2 yrs and 4 months of operation. this just shouldn't happen. i drive the car only a few thousand miles a year and always gingerly close the door. am i asking too much for the darn things to last a few years?

my records show that the previous door brake lasted 5 years. that's more than twice the life i got out of this one. are they making these things worse today?

anyone else experiencing similar lack of longevity of this part?
