I had a whinge about this very thing back on Aug 15 "Crappy OEM Parts". I stopped buying them for years - I was certain they snapped after 13 months (ie 12 month warranty). Besides, they AUD$90 each here these days! Really crappy. Maybe if you could prove the time-line & complained loud enough to BMW they might give you a refund.

I have to say I'd rather a part that worked...
