I don't think they're any worse than they used to be. I still have a spare for a 3.0 CS, a 3.0 Si and a 2002. They all had breaking brakes even when they were young.

I think BMW finally got it right in the '80s. I've had no problems with two 6 series, three E36s and a 525.
