I have a rust free 73, 4 speed, that I want to sell. Check the "BMW for Sale" section. Of course, it is a restored example and the ONLY thing currently wrong with the car is some paint imperfections. I did the restoration myself in '85 and won a couple concourse (sp?) since. Car has only been driven about 8500 miles since. Of course, ALWAYS stored indoors and never driven in rain. Car is currently stored in Houston, TX, but I will bringing it home to Austin so I can concentrate on getting it sold. Basically, I have been kicking around the idea of selling for years and now am going to get it sold to divest in BMW's and build a Cobra replica for FUN (and maybe profit). Anyone interested? Tell your friends.

The fact is that many of them do exist and I have run across a few, besides having two that I challenge anyone to find rust on them. I will not buy a rusty coupe regardless of how pretty it looks and how good the leather or carpet is, or if it has 5spd or not. I can tell within a few minutes if a coupe is rusty, and I have looked at a few besides owning about seven of them in my lifetime. There was a 73 that I advertised for someone and took pictures of, and that car was rust free, believe me. But, no one called since it looked bad, needed paint, upholstery and minor mechanical and was an automatic. A friend finally bought it for $1200!!! And, I know he is way ahead of some of those good looking coupes that the owners will one day realize the money they have to spend to get the rust out.
