Congratulations on the purchase of a great car. For parts try contacting Paul at Maximillians maxesales@aol.com .
For your other questions:
1- I have a 73 CSA and I get around 11 MPG in city driving (LA). I just took a trip up to Yosemite and got an average of around 20MPG.
2- Defroster is the button on the right side and under the steering column and it is a light brownish color.
3- High beam is the left stalk on the steering column and up is high and when you pull it in, it flashes the high beams.
4- The pull up knob is for wiper speeds. By pushing the stalk on the left side of steering will turn it on/off.

I bought my dream car, a lovely "nachtblau" colored 1972 3.0 CS, a few weeks ago. It appears to be in great mechanical shape, it just needs some minor things to make it perfect.

Does anyone know where I could get the following parts for the best prices?
1. Windshield washer pump and one of the hoses w/ attachments that runs to the hood
2. Trunk lock with key
3. Weather trim around windows and doors (this is my biggest priority, before the rainy season hits)

Other questions:
1) What kind of gas mileage is normal for this car? I appear to be getting around 14 miles per gallon. That seems low to me.
2) Where is the defroster located?
3) Where are the high-beams located?
4) What is that "pull-up" knob (it appears to have 2 settings) on the gear shift console, under the power window notches, opposite the cigarette lighter?

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate your input. Oh, by the way, I live in San Francisco. Know any good BMW mechanics there?

Lori
