Any old BMW pump will do. The gears get stuck/rusted to the metal bottom plate, disassemble and clean. The hose could be from a Bavaria, or marine supply stores have the clear w/braided line.
2. Trunk lock with key
ummm, salvage yard (they can be re-keyed to match other cylinders) or dealer.
3. Weather trim around windows and doors (this is my biggest priority, before the rainy season hits)
CNPR has repro stuff, some very expensive, but the door window outside squeegees ran me $9/meter a couple years ago.
Other questions:
1) What kind of gas mileage is normal for this car? I appear to be getting around 14 miles per gallon. That seems low to me.
It seems good to me, great if the AC was on.
2) Where is the defroster located?
Use the fan and heat selector on the console
3) Where are the high-beams located?
Push/pull the stalk parallel to the steering column to select high and low beams.
4) What is that "pull-up" knob (it appears to have 2 settings) on the gear shift console, under the power window notches, opposite the cigarette lighter?
Speed switch for the wipers. There's some variability on this, you should (I think) have intermittent, slow and fast, though the last two may be very nearly the same.
Oh, by the way, I live in San Francisco. Know any good BMW mechanics there?
No, I live in Honolulu. Two nice coupes just came up here, neither of which I can afford. Both owned by the same little old lady (really).
