And what is the "normal" configuraton for grills, all black, all plated, only black on dark color cars, etc.? Will they re-plate elling ones?

1970 2800CS painted Nachtblau with black side grills and (peeling) but plated hood grills.


For those of you looking for replacement hood and fender grills I think I may have found the answer. As you know the grills are still available from BMW in black only. I found a place in Canada that will vacuum plate the plastic grills for resonable money. He said that BMW was not making the grills with materials that plated easily but mine came out really well. The company is CV Vacuum Platers or www.cvvacuumplaters.com, you can ship the parts to a dropoff point in Sumas Washington so you don't have to deal with the NAFTA paper work.
