How much is she willing to spend? I have a '73 for sale that whe will not have to worry about anything for a long time. Check out the "BMW's for Sale" section.

Basically, you should for rust in the following areas first: 1. Rocker panels 2. strut towers 3. front fenders 4. spare tire well 5. door, hood, deck lid edges 6. all over!

Not many weak spots other than automatic trannies...they are junk in my opinnion. Electric windows are a constant headache. Check rear shock towers for metal fatique (don't use stiff shocks).

I'm an old hand with 2002s, but a female friend really wants to own a CS and asked me for "expert" advice, (seeing as I know alot about a different model, which is more than she does...)
So, after reading as much as I can from this board, I'm throwing up a general question (or 2) to help her make a good decision about CS ownership, and choose a good car:
What are the weakpoints/faults/danger areas with the E9s?
Is the fuel injection system reliable?
How about the automatic transmission?
We know about rust (and from my '02 experience, I know where to look on those puppies) where should she concentrate her rust search on a E9 body?
I'm sure she'll appreciate any advice you can give, TIA!
