I converted my '73 from auto tranny to 4-speed. Consequently, I have all (or most) of the parts required to convert to auto tranny, including the tranny. When I bought the car (1983) I drove it from Mass to Houston and the tranny worked well with the exception of the rear seal failing along the trip. I should have pedal box, drive shaft, indicater light pod, bell housing, tranny, center console (i.e. panel with window switches, etc), shift lever and hardware, flywheel, etc.

All the parts are located in central Houston, TX. Let me know if you are interested, I really do not want to try and ship these items so maybe you or someone could pick them up.

Has anyone out there retrofit a late model automatic transmission into their CS. I am 75% complete in the restoration of a 1973 CS unfortunately I have Multiple Sclerosis and it has progressed in the past few years to the point that driving a manual trans. is a problem. The thought of completing this car and only being able to go for rides with my wife at the wheel is very disappointing. It seems the late model transmissions have progressed to the point that they are an acceptable alternative. Any information about what transmission is a fairly painless swap would be helpful.
