Bravo bravo! This is exactly what I wanted to do to mine, but sold the car instead unfortunately. I'm still kicking myself for it. How did you the select offset to the side? What is the 4hp trans used on?

My 73 CS was an automatic to start with and the Borg Warner was slipping. I wanted to keep it automatic since this was and is a daily driver in Los Angeles and besides I had others that were stick shift. My mechanic put in a ZF3HP22 from, I believe a 79 528. The tranny and all the cables fit fine and the drive shaft has enough stretch for the slightly shorter ZF. One thing was important to change also was the shifter tower, since all the electrical and safety switches are in the shifter rather than the side of the tranny on BW. Then it was a matter of finding the right connections from the new shifter to the old plugs under above the brake pedal. It all works fine and it is a great tranny and shifts smooth and is strong. The only thing I had to do was redesign the console since the shifter is a little offset to the left. But, I wished it had another gear. So, you may ask to see if the 4HP24 will fit in the same manner as the 3HP, and if it does, then do that without a question.
