Hi Doug,

That's what they had originally on Swiss delivery E9s, at least on all 3.0 models. I have never ever seen a Swiss 3.0 CS/i with trapezoidal mirrors. Even the only Swiss 2800 CS I know has a rectangular mirror. I would be surprised if all these cars had had later type mirrors fitted, especially since ASFAIK the aluminium mounting bracket is different and thus the holes for the bracket have a different spacing for the rectangular and trapezoidal mirrors.
Now, why would the Swiss cars have different mirrors? No idea, but until recently the Swiss took pride in having their own set of rules for homologation. This gave rise to many bizarre modifications. For example, your Pagoda, like many period Swiss delivery cars, has special "Swiss" electrics for its foglights, meaning your foglights will only work with your sidelights on, but not with low beam.

Best,

Mathis

Hi,

I need a pair of good door mirrors for my '72 CSi (i.e. European delivery). They should be rectangular, not trapezoidal.

Pls e-mail me if you can help

Regards,
