Tool kit disintegrated! (archive)

I knew what happened when I shut the deck lid and heard "tinkle...tinkle...tinkle". Yep, the tool kit broken in several pieces at the "T" screw. Luckily I have a spare, just not as pretty. See, if someone bought my car, they would have spares like this...:)

Has anyone had luck in repairing broken tool kits? I was thinking of using epoxy resin and fiberglass cloth to bond the tool kit back together from the back side. Any other successful methods?
