White smoke?? Looks familiar... (archive)

Looking at the picture, I see a plume of white smoke that doesn't appear to be dust.

My present coupe seems to have the same problem. The car sat for 8 years and although I took the necessary precautions (soaked the pistons/cylinder walls. took out the spark plugs, etc) the car still smokes quite a bit (even after an oil nd filter change)

The PO says the engine was in meticulous condition the last time he drove it. Is this a common condition with coupes? Do is it look like the engine froze and cracked the block? Car was in an unheated garage in New England.

Am I screwed??
