I doubt they put cars in 20' or 40' containers. Unless you boxed-up the car, then shifted the box into the container. Otherwise that puppy will shift inside the container, since there are no securing clamps on container floors.
Unless the car belongs to the crane operator that's lifting the container (very slowly and carefully) on the ships deck. But what about the crane operator that's off loading the container? Hmmmm... also you have rough seas factor.
Usually the cars are secured to the ships deck with lashing straps from deck to car.
I THINK $1500 is usually the cost of shipping it from Europe to USA. DOWN-UNDER
to USA should be roughly double that.
Any freight forwarders that can verify this?
