Most of the automatics were Borg Warners, also used at the time by Jaguar.

3.0s had 200cc bigger engine and 10hp (in theory, but smog equipment and tuning made it unnoticeable).

3.0 exhaust system had bigger tubing throughout, but a third muffler

3.0 brakes are vented rotors all around, 2800s had solid front rotors.

US 2800s had 3.45 diffs, 3.0s had 3.64s.

For street driving, I've had both models and (stock) they drive pretty much the same. Automatics are much less fun.
